Marking the grave of English Stockman
Joe Taylor (1923-1954)
Gwambegwine Station Taroom
I’m overwhelmed by the support this project is receiving from all directions – THANK YOU everyone!! We now have over $500 in excess donations, which will be held by Taroom District Development Association (TDDA) to be used for the next project. Donations can be made in person at the Bendigo bank (Taroom branch) or online to TDDA Bank Account (contact author for details); or via the GoFundMe campaign link below.
NB: GoFundMe automatically deduct their fees from donations and any TIPS also go to them. If you don’t wish to leave a tip, be sure to slide the Tips tab to zero.
A new campaign will be launched for the Salsbury graves after quotes have been received (after decisions have been made as to what is required). In the meantime, any contributions will be accepted gratefully and held in the TDDA bank account until needed.
WORSSELL’S FOUNDRY – Designing Plaques
The memorial plaque design process is underway with Jade from Worssell’s foundry, working her magic to fit the poem and memorial plaque on the beautiful big rock at Gwambegwine station entrance. Once the design proof is accepted there is approximately a 10 week wait. In the meantime, I’ve started preparations for the next project – MARIAN SALSBURY, buried at Walangara, wife of Robert Salsbury, died 29th July 1880 aged 40 years.
